Deborah Courtnell

Before relocating to Hampshire’s picturesque Test Valley, Deborah Boitel Gill spent 25 years in London as, variously, a student (Goldsmiths’ London University) a film examiner (British Board of Film Classification, Soho) and latterly a freelance journalist. She has written features for a wide range of national titles including The Guardian and The Financial Times.

She is also working on her first novel and designing a website via which to document the vibrant rural scene in the pocket town of Stockbridge where she lives. When time allows, Deborah chronicles her observations on life in the muddy lane in her personal blog.
